Hooked!

Having taught myself to crochet recently, I started a World Cup blanket to keep me busy while to footie was on. Well - after many hours it's now complete.

Wading through the internet - as I seem to spend far too much time doing - I came across this challenge by 'A Thrifty Mrs'.

I'm back.....!

Can't believe that I haven't posted for nearly 2 months - where has the time gone?

The last few weeks have been very busy. We've been away for a few days to meet our new nephew. He's a colourful little chap - and not giving him mummy much spare time at the moment. Thankfully - he's worked out the difference between day and night and manages to sleep a little longer now.

We spent a few days at Oakwood and J2 and J3 loved running around the garden. Here's their camp!

Then we had nanna and grandad to visit and spent a few days dodging the rain showers. We did manage a trip to the beach though.

Off to a wet and misty Arran for a few days - lovely scenery and a fab hotel (thanks nanna and grandad). We learnt how Arran Whisky is made and even managed to see a wild eagle! J3 couldn't understand the fuss about the eagle but J2 reminded us that it "was a once in a lifetime opportunity! "

J2 and J3 went to the Drama Studio last week which ended with a fanstastic performance by all the children. J3 wasn't too keen and despite saying that he wasn't going to be in the show did really well. Of course, J2 was in her element - with the singing and dancing.

And now we're just back from a weekend at Lochearnhead - thanks to some friends who let us borrow their new caravan. The kids had a great time and were happy just playing in their new little home.

So now we have a clear week.....and a million things on my 'To Do' list. Better get started!

Garden Party

J2 was 9 years old a few weeks ago! Can't believe my daughter is 9. We had a garden party and for once the sun was shining.

First meal from the garden

I've been harvesting parsley and chives for a while now but today was my first proper meal from the garden. Pea shoot salad grown from a handful of dried peas from the supermarket. Delicious!

bike tshirt

Finally I got round to improving J3's plain tshirts. Here's the green version. He also has a red and white one. A very appropriate tshirt as J3 managed to ride his bike without stabilisers over the Easter holiday and there's no stopping him now.

Even Dad's got the cycling bug and bought himself a bike at the weekend. Maybe he'll want a tshirt too!

Rosyjo's town houses are complete. Blue colour scheme will be available soon.

My new gadget

Really excited about my new gadget - a paper pot maker. A little wooden press that makes seed pots out of newspaper. They are biodegradeable and can be planted directly into the soil. Just need to get some compost now and we'll be able to make a start.

What a great messsage on this picture. A friend of mine made this and gave it to me this morning. I love it!


The rabbits are not my own design and will not be made for sale on rosyjo but I just couldn't resist them. I do have some ideas for something similar though - so watch this space....

Ready to Stuff

After a few late nights - this batch of home decorations are nearly finished. All I need to do now is stuff them and sew them up (in front of the tv tonight).

This stock will be put onto my Folksy shop and taken to Clementine Designs in Edinburgh.

The heart birds and houses are already in my online shop as "coming soon" and have been the most popular - with the most number of hits.

All this stock also has my new labels sewn on.

Lots of new ideas for more goodies - so watch this space.

More goodies

After a successful night sewing last night I managed to produce another heart, a padded fish and a very cute house. Really pleased with how they turned out. All I need now is a boat!

easter hearts...

I'm hoping to make lots of hearts this week. I've started with an easter themed one. Quite pleased with how it turned out but think they'll look even better when I have a whole family of them.

busy busy busy

I've been really busy over the last few days. Lots of sewing, taking photos and on the laptop. Hope you enjoy all the new posts here.

Had a good day yesterday when I popped into a lovely home and gift shop in Morningside, Edinburgh. I had a good chat with the owner of the shop and she was very helpful in giving me advice about selling to local retailers. She has kindly agreed to have a look at my handmade gifts and I'm hoping she will display some for sale in her shop. All I need to do now is put together a selection of gorgeous things. Watch this space for more info.

I also recently visited a local gallery not far from where I live. I think it would be a great outlet for me and I'll be visiting them soon to discuss exhibiting in the gallery.

That's all for now - must get back to my sewing machine!!!!
